- Cecil Redvers Melhuish died on the SS Empire Citizen on 3rd February 1941 at the age of 38. The SS Empire Citizen departed Liverpool as part of convoy OB 279 to Sierra Leone and Burma and was sunk by the German submarine U-107 in the Atlantic Ocean 500 miles north west of the British Isles. A total of 66 crew and 12 passengers were lost.
Cecil Redvers Melhuish is commemorated at Tower Hill Memorial.
