- Leslie Charles Carter died 21 November 1942 - HMS President (MV Empire Sailor)
He was rescued by HMCS Minas after the sinking of Empire Sailor, but died from phosgene gas poisoning and was buried at sea.
He is commemorated at the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
