    Notes:

    Died:
SOUTHINGTON - Joanne Carroll Lasbury, 79, of Southington, died unexpectedly at her home on Nov. 10. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all. "Nina JoJo" was born Nov. 20, 1943 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late James E. and Mary Elizabeth (McVerry) Carroll. Joanne was the oldest sibling of eight children, including three brothers and four sisters. She attended Waterbury Catholic High School class of 1961. She then graduated from Saint Joseph's College in West Hartford in 1965, where she earned her degree in Home Economics. Soon thereafter, she was hired as a teacher in the Southington Public School system where she met the love of her life. Joanne married her husband Bob in 1967, and they spent the next 27 years in Waterbury raising their children. Joanne was an active member in the community, including serving as a Eucharistic Minister at Blessed Sacrament Church for over a decade as well volunteering her time in the school system and local athletic organizations. In 1994, she and Bob moved to Southington where she continued to give of her time to anyone who ever asked. Notably, she ran the Joy in the Beginning Program at St. Dominic's Parish every Sunday for several years.

Joanne's life was marked by her love of family and friends. She continuously gave of herself and was quick to offer a lending hand to those in need. As an amazing seamstress, Joanne's friends and family called upon her countless times to help mend and fashion clothing for their most important occasions. Her laughter was contagious, and she could throw a party like no other. If there was fun to be had, Joanne made sure that everybody came away with a smile.

Joanne enjoyed a long career in Southington as a family and consumer science teacher, pioneering a preschool program and early childhood development program. She was a beloved teacher who had a gift of working with preschool students alongside high school students, and inspired many to become educators. Her zest for life was evident in her travels which spanned the globe from Italy, Bermuda, Hawaii, England, Oregon, St. Kitts and the Caribbean, and of course, her part-time residences in Florida and Cape Cod. There was no adventure she would pass up, and she lived each moment of her life to its fullest- always with her husband, family and friends.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years Robert F. Lasbury, her loving children, MaryBeth Parent and her husband Randolph of Southington; Meghan Lasbury-Casey and her wife Bridgett of Mansfield, Mass.; and Robert Lasbury and his wife Amy of Southington, and her treasured grandchildren RJ (wife Megan), Zachary and Ryan Parent, Owen, Jack, Liam and Troy Lasbury-Casey and Hanna, Robert and Brendan Lasbury . She is also survived by her cherished siblings: James Carroll and his wife Maureen of Virginia, Michael Carroll and his wife, Marion, of Southington, Maureen Marino and her husband Phil of Pennsylvania, Claire Sullivan and her husband, Robert of Madison, and Edward Carroll and his wife Nancy of Branford, her brother-in-law, Frank Antin and his wife Deb of Mattapoisett, Mass., and her sister-in-law, Donna DeLuco of Southington. Joanne was predeceased in death by her sister, Mary Beth Antin and sister Katherine Garry, sister-in-law, Betty Carroll and her brother-in-law Maurice Deluco. Calling hours will be on Nov. 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. at DellaVecchia Funeral Home in Southington.
