Thomas Pitt 1850 – 1932

My thanks to Christine Jerram for allowing me to take a copy of this photo of Thomas Pitt, my great great grandfather. The photo shows a recently restored framed painting that was originally a photograph on a tin plate. The painting was passed down the family from Thomas Pitt’s daughter Ethel Eliza Pitt to her daughter Ruby Ethel Mary Barnett to Christine & Martin Jerram.

Thomas Pitt was born in Stroud, Gloucestershire in 1850, the son of John Pitt & Eliza Terrett. Thomas Pitt married Emma Davis in 1872 in Stroud and together they had 8 children, including my great grandmother Margaret Winifred in 1880.
